BMO Wealth Management (US) Names Private Banking Head

BMO Wealth Management has appointed a national head of banking for its private banking arm, while at the same time this side of the business is offering Canadian clients free access to tens of thousands of ATMs across the US and Puerto Rico.

Jim Duff has been named as national head of banking for BMO Wealth Management’s Private Bank. Duff has been with BMO for over 13 years - holding a number of progressive roles prior to becoming regional business banking head. Before to joining BMO, Duff served as a management consultant for Ernst and Young. In his role, Duff will report to Sandra Henderson, chief operating officer of BMO Wealth Management . Duff is taking over for Mary Jo Herseth, who after a 36-year career in banking, decided to retire from BMO at the end of June. Mary Jo joined BMO in 2009 where she led the transformation of BMO Private Bank's banking business in the US. Prior to BMO, she spent 26 years at LaSalle in various leadership capacities and a little over a year at US Trust/Bank of America, following the acquisition of LaSalle.

In its ATM announcement, meanwhile, BMO Private Banking today said it will give Canadian clients – high-net worth individuals and families – free access to over 40,000 machines as part of a partnership with Allpoint.

The private bank and wealth operations are part of BMO Financial Group, which this year marks its 200th anniversary.
